Aveon Offshore Limited has successfully loaded out and achieved the sail away of the components of the OFON Phase II Living Quarter project. Sail away occurred in three batches:
- The first load out and sail away was for the Jacket and Piles on the 11th of November, 2013.
- The second load out and sail away was for the Spider Deck on 2nd of December, 2013.
- The third load out and sail away was for the Helideck on 8th of December, 2013.
AVEON Offshore Limited (AOL), a wholly Nigerian owned Oil and Gas services company was awarded a contract in 2011 for the fabrication of a 4-leg Jacket (900 Tons) and piles (1400 Tons), Spider (utility) deck (800 Tons) and Helideck (200 tons). The contract was awarded by EIFFAGE Nigeria Limited as part of the Total Exploration and Production Nigeria Limited’s OFON Phase II Living Quarter platform Project.
Yard facilities were upgraded under the project by adding a piles rolling and assembly line able to roll plates of up to 100 mm thick and deliver 300 T of finished product per month.
The project was executed at Aveon Offshore’s 240,000 sqm fabrication yard in Rumuolumeni near Port Harcourt and generated 600,000 man hours without lost time incidents, and culminated in the successful load out of the structures and sail away of the transport barges 18 months after first steel cutting.
The completion of this project constitutes a major milestone in the development of Aveon Offshore as a sustainable Nigerian fabrication yard serving the Oil and Gas industry.
